Sales Forecasting
The software has an optional Sales Forecasting facility, which allows the system to
examine historical demand for an item and calculate a forecast usage over a given period,
and an annual usage. The forecast makes use of “Phasing” of the forecast to reflect
patterns of seasonal use.
The main reason why Sales Forecasting is so important is due to the fact that it is
concerned with demand over a period of time as opposed to simple quantitities of stock.
Thus it is possible to plan a level of stock turn on items, which will deliver good
customer service and hence aid the sales process.
Purchasing may be conducted in conjunction with Sales Forecasts. The forecast quantities
may be amended by an operator and the revised forecast stored in a Purchase Requisition prior
to generating a firm purchase order.
