Q1.
What happens if a hard drive fails on our server in the data centre?
A1.
Every server uses either RAID-1 or RAID-5 technology so the server keeps on working until we can replace the failed hard drive. When replacement has taken place the new hard drive automatically receives a copy of the data from the drive which kept on working.
Q2.
Does the server provided by Advensys on the customer site also have RAID hard drives.
A2.
Yes. We want this server to keep on working too, in the event of hard drive failure. After all it is running email and shared file and print services for every person on site.
Q3.
If there is a power cut on my own site does Advensys provide any kind of power backup to keep this server running.
A3.
Yes. We provide an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) within the cabinet. This supports the server and the Internet Router.
Q4.
If the router fails, will my site be cut off from the internet and thus from my data and systems?
A4.
Yes… for a couple of minutes. Advensys provides a spare router pre-configured as part of the on-site installation at the customer’s premises.
Q5.
What happens if we have no internet connectivity at all.
A5.
You have a problem! However, we provide limited lookup facilities on the local server so you can still find things, price them and record sales manually. So you will not be completely without information.
